A closed rabbitry isn't as sketchy as you might think...

Updated: Apr 5, 2022

Let's talk about open vs closed rabbitries today!

An open rabbitry will allow people to come to their exact location to collect their rabbit; while a closed rabbitry does not allow anyone in the property and will meet elsewhere for the exchange. Folks will keep a closed rabbitry for many reasons, some of them may be: -biosecurity: keeping strangers out of your rabbitry reduces transmission of potential disease. -personal security: keeping strangers out of your rabbitry reduces risks of theft, trespassing and other unwanted activity on your property. -liability: they do not want to be held responsible in the event something happens. •Keeping an open rabbitry shows people you are transparent with the conditions of your rabbitry, which is a great thing but keeping yours closed doesn't mean rabbits are kept inhumanely! Regardless which you choose, it simply means you are doing what you believe is best for you, your family and your rabbits. •If you have a closed rabbitry, you can offer to send photos or videos of your animals and their living spaces IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE with that, do not feel pressured into having to do so. No one has the right to see what you deem as your private space unless they have a warrant (signed by a judge), so don't let anyone bully you into giving information you do not want to share.

Adventures into Wonderland Rabbitry is a closed rabbitry for all of the reasons listed above, I will supply photos or videos of my rabbitry to interested parties but no one is welcome on the property.
